Le filtre à air correspond au "poumon" du moteur, son rôle est d'éliminer au maximum les poussières contenues dans l'air ambiant que le moteur respire.
Il permet d'éviter que des impuretés s'introduisent dans le moteur et provoquent des dégâts irréversibles au(x) piston(s), soupapes,...).

Un des principes de base du moteur à explosion est la combustion d’un mélange air / essence. Le filtre à air joue un rôle fondamental.
Un filtre en mauvais état peut provoquer des anomalies de fonctionnement : une surconsommation, baisse de puissance, pollution...

Les filtres K&N augmentent le débit d'air pour développer l'accélération à bas régime et augmenter la puissance maxi du quad.

Les filtres se composent de quatre à six couches de tamis en coton placées entre deux plaques de treillis métallique en aluminium. Le coton est ensuite plissé et huilé pour augmenter sa capacité de filtrage et ses performances générales.
Le résultat : un filtre à air permettant l'entrée d'un volume d'air plus important dans le moteur, lavable et réutilisable. Il protègera le moteur pendant toute sa durée de vie.

Ils se montent rapidement et directement dans votre boite à air d'origine en remplacement de celui d'origine.

Cependant, le filtre K&N pour le POLARIS OUTLAW 525 nécessite une modification partielle de l'intérieur de la boite pour l’adaptation / la fixation du filtre complet dans celle-ci.
