À quoi sert la chaine de distribution dans le moteur ?

La chaine de distribution permet de synchroniser les différentes phases du moteur dans un ordre précis.


Celle-ci est "connectée" au vilebrequin et à l'arbre à cames. Lors du mouvement du vilebrequin, il entraine la chaine et permet d'actionner à un moment précis un mécanisme d'ouverture/fermeture des soupapes via l'arbre à cames.
